Feeling old again…

November 15, 2007 · Leave a Comment

It’s amazing to see what people use to judge their feeling of being old, my labmate just pointed out. I just had a wee fit about my age. Searching through iTunes for something I haven’t heard in a while, I put on No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom.” Since shell scripting is not fascinating enough to keep my attention, I looked up the year in which i was made, curious if it hit the 10 year mark yet. Indeed, the album was made in 1995! It’s 12 years old! I remember listening to it when it was new… that makes me… OLD! Today’s girls only know Gwen Stefani as the glamorous pop singer and designer, not the ska-punk princess of No Doubt.

Thank goodness Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” is only 8 years old. I was singing along to that in the car the other day, imagining that my kids will think that it is “oldies.” Wow. At the very least, it’ll be classic rock, and I hope my kids realize that one day… But I can’t wait to torture them one day with “Papercut.” It brings a sadistic smile to my face.

Amusing an enlightening video by Penn & Teller on the shady business of pollsters. Look carefully for the unsuspecting citizen being caught in his own inconsistent ideas…
